Laguna Humantay is a beautiful lake in the Peruvian Andes, near Cusco. It is located at 4,200 meters above sea level and is known for its crystal-clear waters and the impressive snow-capped Humantay mountain reflected in it. Detailed Itinerary
- One day before the tour start date, we visit you at your hotel at 8:00 PM to provide all the necessary instructions for the Laguna Humantay tour and explain the entire travel itinerary along with respective recommendations.
- 04:00 to 04:30. Pickup from your hotels to board the minivan and drive to the town of Mollepata in the lush Apurimac River valley, where we'll have breakfast and buy what is needed for the tour before starting the hike to Laguna Humantay at 4200 meters above sea level. After breakfast, we continue towards Challacancha, enjoying the majesty of the Humantay snow peak in the Vilcabamba mountain range during the journey, and then proceed to Soraypampa at 2900 meters above sea level. Here, we'll have a short break, recharging ourselves with energy to continue our journey to the starting point of the Soraypampa hike, beginning our trek to Laguna Humantay. Along the route, we'll have impressive views of Laguna Humantay and stunning viewpoints allowing us to capture incredible photographs.
- From Soraypampa to Laguna Humantay is a 2 km hike, which can take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. We'll be able to appreciate the Humantay Snow Peak at 4200 meters above sea level on one side and the imposing Salkantay Snow Peak on the other side. At Laguna Humantay, we'll have approximately 1 hour of free time to rest, take photographs, and admire the landscape before returning to Soraypampa, boarding the minivan, and heading to Mollepata, where a delicious lunch awaits. Finally, we'll return to the city of Cusco.
