Detailed Itinerary

  • 09:00. Pickup and departure towards the south of Puno.
  • 09:30. Arrival and places to visit:
  • INCA UYO: The 'Inca Uyo' or temple of fertility, rectangular in shape and ceremonial character, is a sacred place where rituals are performed paying homage to Pachamama and the worship of the sun. Up to 80 figures in the shape of phalluses can be found here. Also used as an astronomical observatory by the Incas. The Inca Uyo is conducive to meditation.
  • IGLESIA DE LA ASUNCIÓN: Comprising columns and arches, of Peruvian Renaissance colonial architecture. Also known for the festival held on August 15, which marks the beginning of the agricultural campaign, through various Andean religious symbolisms like 'huajjcha,' where cooked masses of quinoa and lime are thrown from the towers of the Church of the Assumption.
  • MIRADOR DE CHUCUITO: An ancient Lupaca ceremonial center; nowadays, farewell ceremonies for carnival are held here. It's made of mud with tile and adobe.
  • IGLESIA SANTO DOMINGO CHUCUITO: Founded in 1539, the main altar is carved in wood with gold leaf; also, the Virgin of the Rosary is venerated in this temple in October. It has two bronze bells.
  • Also found here is the Catechesis Cross, carved in stone with images of the Virgin Mary and the apostle San Juan, a cross used to initiate the indoctrination of the indigenous people.
  • CHUCUITO FISH FARM (OPTIONAL): Freshwater, exquisite meat, at the Chucuito fish farm, you can see the reproduction process, growth of rainbow trout with pink meat, and other species such as the coiled trout that in the past could measure over a meter.
  • This UNA research center was created to repopulate the species that were in the process of extinction due to trout fishing throughout Lake Titicaca.
  • 11:30. Return to Puno.
  • 12:00. Arrival and transfer to hotels in the city center.
